Celebration Packaging is exhibiting on stand G40 at the lunch! event at ExCel in London from 23rd to 24th September and is taking the opportunity to launch a new range of 100% recyclable foodservice packaging products made from recycled material.
“It’s no coincidence that 20th to 26th September is also National Recycle Week and Celebration Packaging is proud to be launching these new 100% recyclable foodservice packaging products which are currently made from up to 80% recycled post-consumer PET waste (rPET),” says Celebration Packaging Managing Director Nick Burton. “By the end of this year, the new range will be manufactured using 100% rPET.“
Towards a 100% circular economy model
“As a 100% recyclable material, rPET has the potential to achieve a 100% circular economy model. In addition, products made from rPET use considerably less energy, and consequently have a much lower carbon footprint, compared to products made from virgin plastics.“
The new rPET range is available in multiple sizes to suit all applications. It includes the Oval, Rectangular and Round Families – high-clarity clear bowls with hinged lids which are ideal for presenting fresh salads and vegetables. The Premium Bowl and Diamond Bowl ranges are available in transparent or black, with matching tight-fitting transparent lids, while Catering Trays are available in a variety of colours, each with transparent covers. In addition to the bowl ranges, a wide range of cups with domed lids are also available.
Also on show at Lunch!
Celebration Packaging will also be exhibiting two new additions to its EnviroWare® sustainable packaging range.
EnviroWare® Leakproof Rectangular Bagasse Food Trays & Lids have been developed as an environmentally-friendly alternative to traditional polystyrene packaging. Made from natural and renewable non-wood fibre bagasse, and commercially compostable, the takeaway food containers are available in three sizes, with a single lid to fit all sizes.
With hygiene at the top of the foodservice agenda, Celebration Packaging’s proven, sustainable EnviroWare® high quality smooth wooden cutlery is now available hygienically packed in plastic-free wrappers. The cutlery is made from wood from sustainable forestry and has full Forest Stewardship Council® chain of custody accreditation, while the unbleached natural brown paper wrapping is plastic-free, wax-free and uncoated. This allows the hygienically-wrapped wooden cutlery range to be composted after use.
Visitors to lunch! will also see a new range of small, reusable hinged-lid food containers. Developed alongside two popular high street food chains as a solution for pre-portion control in busy kitchens, they are made from durable translucent polypropylene
(PP). Dishwasher-friendly and designed to be reused time and time again. When they reach end-of-life, they can be recycled.
The future of sustainable food packaging
“As this will be the first ‘live’ event in the sector since the pandemic, the Celebration Packaging team is excited to have the opportunity to meet existing and new customers on stand G40 at lunch!,” says Nick Burton. “We have many new products to show, alongside our new rPET range, and we look forward to discussing visitors’
future requirements for more sustainable food packaging.”
