Customer demand for sustainable food packaging is ever increasing. Plastic food packaging is often demonised, yet in reality it remains a popular solution which is practical and often economical compared with alternatives. 

We believe plastic packaging still has its place in the foodservice industry.  The right products can form part of a circular economy – where they are collected and recycled.  With this in mind, Celebration are working to develop our range of packaging made from rPET recycled plastic.

Polyethylene Terephthalate or PET is the most commonly use plastic and much of our disposable packaging for cold food and drink is made from PET.  Its perfect for food packaging as it is strong, lightweight and shatterproof. 

 PET is easily recycled.  Recycling of the plastic leads to around 60% energy savings and more than 70% lower carbon dioxide emissions compared to manufacture using virgin plastics.

 

Plastic Recycling Process

 

Plastic packaging goes through the recycling process so it can be converted into new rPET plastic products.

PET is first cut into small pieces which are then cleaned. The pieces are then changed into pellets, which are then used to manufacture new products.

As a 100% recyclable material, PET has the potential to achieve a 100% circular economy model.

We can also offer custom packaging in special shapes, sizes and branded options are available – subject to tooling charges.

Black or clear RPET (recycled) plastic bowls & lids provide optimum presentation for cold food-to-go. Two sizes available, 500ml bowls for single servings & 1000ml bowls for sharing portions.
